Six-metre high door opens glass façade
Cepezed has modernised a traditional town house in The Hague for a private customer. The firm of architects has added a new glass rear façade and a double-height atrium for which ODS supplied steel sections with spans of six metres.
The architect has completely done away with the typical structure of a Dutch mid-terrace house on the ground floor. The former hallway and kitchen have now become part of the living space. A wall of cupboards has been created here in which the original doors have been reused. The pivoted door is two-metres wide and six-metres high. The door pivots by a third and turns exactly in the double-height atrium.
